Kasab Hanged- There's nothing to rejoice about it
It was very saddening to see my frenzied fellow countrymen celebrating a person’s death yesterday, no matter that the person was a terrorist. This, I believe, is not our value system. Yesterday evening one of the radio stations was broadcasting a story (supposed to be humorous) in which it named a dog as Kasab. I consider it disgusting and not humorous.
Although, in principle I am against capital punishment, Kasab’s hanging for me was a routine legal activity for the heinous crime he had committed. And, I do not consider it as avenging the death of our slain soldiers. I carry a very high regard for our soldiers who fought to protect Mumbai from these terrorists. Had Zaki Ur Rehman Lakhwi been killed or captured, I would have considered it as a big step in our fight against terrorism.
Kasab was a kid who lived in poverty. He was brainwashed by radical Islamists and lured using money into the game of death. I consider him to be a victim of the system which could not give him proper upbringing and opportunity. We have many such similar cases here in India as well.
I personally feel that he could have been reformed and could have been presented as an example to the world. He could have been an example for all those misguided youth of the world who have taken up arms considering terrorism to be a holy war.
All this could not happen. Still, I believe we should not be rejoicing the death of a misguided youth. Here I find something that Gandhiji quoted as a perfect fit in the situation, I quote him: - “Hate the crime not the criminal”!!

since i heard the news of kasab hanged and after that watching all follow up news in media i was thinking the same .quoting kasab as misguided youth is is too great

DeleteYou are right. I saw many of the people writing comments such as "Am so happy today that I cannot express it", "Finally Kasab is hanged, I am happy". To me it does not make any sense.

These are not the words of a jihadi or a revolutionary. These words can come out of people who are mis-guided by the system and a realization occurs to them at some point of time.
Most of the comments on social websites such as Facebook etc. are posted just to show radical thinking of a person. The person posting such comments wants some likes and wows on the status message. Otherwise he gives a damn about what is going on around him. Eat drink and be merry is the motto. To be honest, most of my time goes in thinking about myself and my family. Some time goes to my extended family and good friends. I have so little time for myself to think about all such national issues at a grand level. I read news in the newspaper, criticize the government, appreciate the government, turn to the next page and go to office. That is my total contribution to the cause. And I believe most of us also do the same.

In India there is about 50lac kid who are living in poverty, So boss as per your point of view if they all do the crime and blame the poverty for their sins and Says "For Allah's sake please forgive me.... I promise I will not repeat such mistake again...." we should released them all .... great thought.... ???? then why we are wasteing our soliders/policemen life for saving us from crime ....???
Dear, As i said in the end. "Hate the crime not the criminal". No one says that the hanging was wrong as per law. It was the rarest of the rare kind of crimes. But, there has to be a difference between a misguided youth and a criminal. Here Hafiz Saeed is the main criminal and is scot free. The red corridor in India is because of lack of opportunity. I do not think a normal person would like to do anything abnormal in his life if he gets right opportunities.

I agree that such acts build confidence and Kasab was hanged as per the law of the land. I have no issues. But, there is nothing to celebrate about it. After all someone died. I would dance the day our government kills Hafiz Saeed and Zakiur Rehman Lakhwi. About Kasab what ever you say, he was a kid. Actually Afzal Guru should have been hanged because he is an ideologue and a leader. Such people should not be shown mercy!!
